Prague, Czech Republic.

October 2004--Built under Soviet authority to jam radio signals in the '80s, the Zizkov TV Tower wasn't even operational until the early '90s, well after the Soviet occupation. "The sightseeing takes place in the second pod, which is cold, stark, and very reminiscent of the bygone Russian era," says reader Wayne Noffsinger, who snapped this shot. The gravity-defying, truck-size babies, installed in 2000, were supposed to be temporary but created such a stir that they're expected to stay for the next 10 years.
