PowerGen Nominates Two Power Stations for Sale.LONDON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 20, 1998--PowerGen plc (NYSE NYSE See: New York Stock Exchange : PWG PWG Pro Wrestling Guerrilla (Los Angeles, California, USA) PWG Permanent Working Group PWG Project Working Group PWG Peoples War Group (India) PWG Post Weaning Gain PWG Pedalwertgeber ), the international power company, today announced that it has nominated two of its coal-fired power stations for sale as part of the undertakings to the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry in connection with its acquisition of East Midlands Electricity (EME). The two stations are Ferrybridge C, Knottingley, West Yorkshire and Fiddler's Ferry, Warrington, Cheshire. The Secretary of State announced in September that he would not refer PowerGen's acquisition of EME to the Monopolies and Mergers Commission subject to undertakings including the disposal of 4,000 megawatts of coal-fired plant. The undertakings are subject to approval by the Secretary of State and must be in place by November 26, 1998. The employees of Ferrybridge and Fiddler's Ferry have been told today that their stations have been nominated as part of this process.
