PowerCerv Enhances E-Commerce Solutions.
Agreement provides PowerCerv customers with E-commerce capabilities
PowerCerv (NASDAQ: PCRV), a leading provider of integrated enterprise resource planning (ERP) software and customer relationship management (CRM) software for the mid-market, has signed an agreement with Sterling Commerce (NYSE:SE), the worldwide Internet E-commerce leader for business.
Under the terms of the agreement, PowerCerv will resell and implement Sterling Commerce's GENTRAN business process integration software as part of its Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solution, PowerCerv ERP Plus. This agreement will give PowerCerv customers immediate access to E-commerce by helping them bridge the gap between their business systems and their entire value chain.
"Our customers view the ability to integrate E-commerce solutions as a vital mechanism to strengthen their relationships within their supply chain," said John Montague, PowerCerv's senior vice president of marketing. "Our partnership with Sterling Commerce gives us a strong foundation to build an integrated E-commerce infrastructure, and to further leverage our suite of integrated customer relationship management and enterprise resource planning applications."
In a recent survey of mid-market manufacturers conducted by AMR Research, Inc., integrated E-commerce was cited as one of the three primary decision factors in selecting an enterprise application software solution - which points to the timeliness of this agreement between PowerCerv and Sterling Commerce.
"Mid-market manufacturers have been anticipating an E-commerce solution that will help them exchange information between their internal business applications and their customers, suppliers and business partners," said Todd Ellwood, vice president, America's sales, Sterling Commerce. "With the added advantage of embedding GENTRAN into ERP Plus, PowerCerv has further strengthened its ERP and CRM packages, offering their customers a single solution for accessing E-commerce capabilities."
The integration between Sterling Commerce's GENTRAN business process integration software and PowerCerv ERP Plus is currently in limited release and is scheduled for general availability with PowerCerv ERP Plus Version 9.0 in Q4 1999.
