 APPROVAL. Potlatch Corp., Spokane, Washington Spokane (pronounced [spoʊ̯ˈkæn]) is a city located in Eastern Washington. The seat of Spokane County, Spokane is the metropolitan center of the Inland Northwest, the second largest city in Washington state, and , USA announced that its board of directors has approved the final steps necessary for the company to begin operating as a real estate investment trust (REIT) on January 1, 2006. No other board or regulatory actions are necessary for the conversion of Potlatch Corporation to a REIT.
