The Postal Service chose San Francisco as one of the major metropolitan markets to offer the new product because of the high volume of international mail currently emanating from the area, according to San Francisco District Manager Scott Tucker. "I'm delighted San Francisco has been chosen to showcase this exciting new product," Tucker noted, "and I'm certain that the San Francisco business community will respond positively, as it usually does, when offered a dependable, high quality product at a very affordable price." San Jose was also chosen to provide this service. The charge for Priority Mail Global Guaranteed will be $23 for up to eight ounces and $31 for over eight ounces and up to two pounds. The countries being served are Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Monaco, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and the territory of Gibralter. Major metropolitan markets other than that of San Francisco/San Jose where the service is available are: Boston; Charlotte; Greensboro, N.C.; Chicago; Houston; Miami; Minneapolis; St. Paul, Minn.; New York New York, state, United States New York, Middle Atlantic state of the United States. It is bordered by Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and the Atlantic Ocean (E), New Jersey and Pennsylvania (S), Lakes Erie and Ontario and the Canadian province of ; Stamford, Conn.; Providence, R.I.; Philadelphia; Phoenix; and Washington. |
