Positron Announces Two mPower Pet Scanner Sales for Its Second Quarter Ended June 30.

Positron Corporation (OTCBB:POSC) announced today that it sold two Positron mPower HZL(TM) positron emission tomography (PET) scanners during its second quarter ended June 30, 2002 to previously announced Nishidai Clinic (Diagnostic Imaging Center) in Tokyo and Emory Crawford Long Hospital Carlyle Fraser Heart Center in Atlanta. These system sales will be recorded in the Company's second quarter 2002 financial results.

Emory Crawford Long Hospital was founded in 1908 and is metro Atlanta's third largest hospital licensed for 583 acute care beds. Crawford Long serves more than 100,000 patients annually and its staff consists of approximately 1,100 physicians and 2,100 employees. Emory Crawford Long Hospital is a component of EMORY HEALTHCARE, the most comprehensive health care system in Atlanta.

Established in 1975, the Carlyle Fraser Heart Center at Emory Crawford Long Hospital is dedicated to the diagnosis, treatment and research of diseases and disorders of the heart and lung. The Carlyle Fraser Heart Center is a component of the Emory Heart Center, which has been recognized by U.S. News and World Report as among the top ten heart programs in the country.
