Portugal Telecom Announces No Y2K Problems.

: PTCO.IN), the Portuguese telecommunications company, today announced that it experienced no interruptions in telecommunications services at the start of the New Year.

PT and PT's subsidiaries (TMN (Telecommunications Management Network) A set of international standards for network management from the ITU. It is used by large carriers such as Sprint, Verizon and AT&T. , Cable TV, PT PRIME, TELEPAC, MARCONI and PTI PTI - Portable Tool Interface ) have successfully completed all tests on their networks, infrastructures and information systems. Service to the new Portuguese fixed telecom operators is also normal.

Portugal Telecom expects all businesses to be operating as normal as they reopen for business after the New Year's holiday. PT will continue to monitor the situation closely until noon on Tuesday, January 4, 2000.
