Popcorn Indiana moves to 1592 Broadway in heart of Times Square. (Retail New York).

Popcorn Indiana, a new concept in popcorn, has established its second New York City store as its flagship at 1592 Broadway, in the heart of Times Square at West 48tb Street. Its first store, at 76th and Broadway, experienced immediate success and this second site marks the beginning of a roll-out of multiple stores in 24/7 locations offering high pedestrian traffic.

Gary Trock of the Insignia/ESG Retail Group negotiated the 10-year 700-SF deal on behalf of the tenant, while landlord Sherwood 48 Associates acted on its own behalf.

"There's no better location for round-the-clock pedestrian traffic than Times Square," said Trock. "Popcorn Indiana is a fun, innovative new idea and its arrival on Broadway and West 48th Street will add to the revelry of the entire Times Square scene. Positioned directly across from Hershey's flagship store and The W Hotel, Popcorn Indiana should be extremely successful."

According to Richard Demb, president of Popcorn Indiana, "We are thrilled to secure a foothold in Times Square and are very excited about our long-term plans to open stores throughout the entire Greater New York Metro area."

Popcorn Indiana will open its new store in Spring 2003. Their 76th Street store opened October 2002.
