Polyolefins meeting to address changes.

Polyolefins 2006, an international conference sponsored by the Society of Plastics Engineers (SPE SPE - Software Practice and Experience ), will be held February 26 through March 1 at the Windham Greenspoint Hotel in Houston, TX.

This conference is said to present the latest challenges, opportunities and issues affecting the polyolefins industry. The theme is, "From reserves to retailers--the changes confronting the polyolefins business worldwide."

Sessions planned for this confer ence will be held on such subjects as recent development in polymers and catalysts; developments in rigid packaging --resins and applications; current state of product specifications and supply chain management; stabilization of polyolefins--from processing to end use applications; advancements in film and flexible packaging; productivity improvements and Six Sigma Not to be confused with Sigma 6.
Six Sigma is a set of practices originally developed by Motorola to systematically improve processes by eliminating defects.[1] A defect is defined as nonconformity of a product or service to its specifications.
; post reactor functionalization of polyolefins--fillers, modifiers, process and applications; and advancements in primary and secondary processing equipment.

Papers presented during the session on developments in rigid packaging will include the following: "New polypropylene packaging applications," Michael Musgrave, Douglas Burmaster, Dang dang
