Polymer Bonding 2004 planned.

Polymer Bonding 2004, sponsored by Rapra Technology Ltd., will take place April 27-28 at the Forum Hotel Manchen in Munich, Germany. This is Rapra's first conference focusing on the bonding of both rubber and plastics to various substrates.

Much of the reported work in literature, and especially recent conferences, has been concerned with bonding of rubbers to substrates in a wide variety of combinations. However, many combinations of plastics and substrates also find applications within the polymer processing industries, and are used by a wide variety of manufacturing industries manufacturing industries nplindustrias fpl manufactureras

, according to Rapra.

It is the aim of this two-day conference to widen the area of discussion from a purely rubber or purely plastic based topic to include those additional related bonding application areas. Papers discussing bonding within the polymer industries and from academic researchers are said to enable conference delegates to more fully understand the problems and their solutions for the bonding between polymers and a wide range of substrates.

Topics covered during Polymer Bonding 2004 will include the latest material advances; new processing technologies; analysis of bonding techniques; progress in application technology; formulation advancement: and business and industry issues.

Session 1 on technology will feature the following technical presentations: "A review of recent developments in bonding of steel products for rubbers and plastics reinforcement," Daniel Mauer, N.V. Bekaert S.A., Belgium; "Strength vs. durability factor: Effects from processing and chemistry," R.J. DelVecchio, Technical Consulting Services: and "Quantum leap in polymer innovation performance through advanced technology management," Wolfram wolfram: see tungsten.  Keller, PRTM PRTM Parks, Recreation, and Tourism Management
