During the month long process, the Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh, addressed an election rally at Pasighat in Arunachal Pradesh, Congress Party President Sonia Gandhi had addressed rallies at Karnal and Sirsa in Haryana, while Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi had addressed a rally in Bhopal. In Maharashtra, Sonia Gandhi addressed rallies in Kolhapur, Nagpur and Mumbai.
