Politics--Under God.

Politics--Under God

   These are solemn times--
Laughter is the worst of crimes:
If jokesters try their tricks of wit,
   Eradicate both them and it.
   The elect are those
   Who general gloom impose.
   Prisoners of war,
   Scores below the par,
The golf clubs in the bag,
   The proudly waving flag,
   Putting on the green
   And dining with the queen,
   Our throughway to salvation,
   This whole misguided nation--
   Everything is under God
   (Not including sin
And the actual state we're in.)
   Mentioning every thing odd.
   only other is.
