Political party politics.This is in response to the letters in the February 2007 Letters column concerning the article "Rise of the Black Republicans?" (November 2006). I am neither Democrat nor Republican (I'm Independent), but I wanted to share this. Desire for Such a Proclamation , nor do they know that most blacks were Republican during Reconstruction. Also not known is that the Democratic Party was founded as a "white man's party." Of course, through the years, ideologies and agendas have changed for both parties.
