This cartoon is a parody parody, mocking imitation in verse or prose of a literary work. The following poem by Robert Southey was parodied by Lewis Carroll:

"You are old, Father William," the young man cried;
  "The few locks which are left you are gray;
 (comic imitation) of the Great Seal of the United States Great Seal of the United States: see United States, Great Seal of the. , adopted by America's founders in 1782. The motto on the actual seal reads E pluribus unum E Pluribus Unum (ē plr`ĭbəs y`nəm) [Lat. , Latin for "Out of many, one." How does this parody refer to a current event?
