As George W. Bush addressed the United Nations General Assembly on September 20, police forcibly arrested sixteen of the nonviolent activists exercising their First Amendment rights outside the UN. Among those arrested for carrying signs and chanting "Bush is a war criminal," "Arrest Bush" and "Bush Step Down!" was Beth K. Lamont, AHA Nongovernmental Organizations Transnational organizations of private citizens that maintain a consultative status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations.
