Police: Robber concedes victim, 93, was justified in shooting him during robbery.A man shot by the 93-year-old man he allegedly beat unconscious with a soda can during a robbery told police he deserved to be shot. Douglas B. Williams Jr. allegedly struck Willie Lee Hill, 93, at least 50 times with a soda can after being confronted Wednesday night in the bedroom in Hill's Arkansas home, police said. Covered in blood, Hill regained consciousness a short time later and pulled a .38-caliber handgun on his attacker. Williams saw the gun and charged the man, who fired a bullet that struck Williams in the throat, police said. "I got what I deserved," Williams, 24, told police when they arrived, officers said. Investigators reported finding, among other items, a drill bit set, three pocket knives and two hearing aids inside his pockets. Paramedics took the two men to hospital for treatment. Williams was listed in critical condition while officials declined to give Hill's condition or say if he had been discharged, citing medical privacy laws. Police plan to charge Williams with residential burglary, second-degree battery, theft of property and theft by receiving.
