Polar Air Cargo Names New General Sales Agents In Israel, Turkey and Poland.

PURCHASE, N.Y. -- Polar Air Cargo, Inc. (Polar) has appointed new General Sales Agents (GSA) in Israel, Turkey and Poland, following a recent decision by Polar to extend its sales base within the Europe, Middle East, India and Africa (EMEIA) region.

Polar will be represented in Israel by Globespeed Ltd; in Turkey by Airmark Airline Marketing and Services; and in Poland by Star Ways Airline Services.

All GSAs will feed their cargo by air or by truck into Polar's European Hub at Amsterdam's Schiphol Airport. Polar operates six weekly flights from Amsterdam to several destinations in the United States, with onward connections to multiple destinations in South America. Polar also operates a weekly flight to its hub in Korea, with connections to major destinations in Asia.

Globespeed Ltd. was initially established as a forwarding company in 1978, but turned its attention to opportunities as a cargo GSA in 1987. Globespeed operates with a staff of 25 people from the city of Tel Aviv and provides full airfreight activities, including cargo sales, reservations and cargo administration, airfreight ground handling, and import services.

Airmark Airline Marketing and Services is the leading cargo GSA in Turkey. Alper Arat and Hakan Erman founded the company in February 2001. Both have many years of experience in the air cargo industry. Star Ways Airline Services already represents Polar as a sales agent in both the Czech Republic and Hungary.
