WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 2, 2003

PointDx today announced the addition of SPIn-DR (St. Petersburg Independent Diagnostic Radiology radiology, branch of medicine specializing in the use of X rays, gamma rays, radioactive isotopes, and other forms of radiation in the diagnosis and treatment of disease. ) to its growing list of clients.

On May 29, 2003, Dr. Mark Herbst (founder of SPIn-DR) executed the contract for the installation and deployment of PointDx's structured reporting solution, REX REX - The original name for Restructured EXtended eXecutor. . Following system installation, Herbst will be trained on the workflow of the REX product - designed to eliminate many of the time-consuming and resource-intensive steps associated with traditional radiology reporting - and Herbst's referring physicians will be introduced to the new REX report format.

Since 1999, PointDx has worked to develop an innovative, practical structured reporting solution for radiology that replicates a radiologist's workflow, reduces costs, and generates meaningful and concise reports for clinicians. With REX, the company's flagship product A primary product of a company, which is typically why the company was founded and/or what made it well known. By integrating image analysis and reporting functionality into a single process, REX eliminates the need for transcription, improves quality of content, standardizes report presentation, and delivers multi-media reports to clinicians immediately following image analysis. Additional benefits to the REX solution include statistical analysis of radiologic radiologic Radiological adjective Referring to radiology  information, disease tracking, and support for advanced 3D applications like virtual colonscopy.
