Plexus announces integration of imaging and document management through Alliance with PC DOCS.

SUNNYVALE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 17, 1997--Plexus, Division of BancTec, Inc. (NYSE:BTC) and PC DOCS, Inc., a subsidiary of PC DOCS Group International, Inc. today announced the integration of Plexus' high performance XDP Object/Storage Management Suite with industry-leading DOCS Open by PC DOCS.

The Plexus XDP Object/Storage Management Suite, available for both UNIX and NT, provides the ability to store files on an array of optical jukeboxes. Integration of the Plexus XDP Object/Storage Management Suite and DOCS Open will permit a user to select the Plexus-managed storage device as their storage option, and automatically manage storage and retrieval of documents from optical and/or magnetic media.

Through this alliance, Plexus customers who wish to integrate their image data with DOCS Open will have access to robust document management features, such as indexing, check-in/check-out, version control, document security, and audit tracking. Similarly, DOCS Open and DOCS Imaging customers who wish to add support for optical jukebox storage devices into their document management implementation will be able to choose the Plexus high performance XDP Object Storage Management Suite as their preferred storage solution.

Existing Plexus and PC DOCS customers will also benefit from this arrangement in that they will have an option to integrate this new capability and expand and enhance their existing information management solution. Under terms of the agreement, Diamond Head Software will perform the integration using the DOCS Open Integration Toolkit from PC DOCS.
