Plenty in Store for Macheezmo Mouse.

PORTLAND, Ore.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 8, 1998--Macheezmo Mouse Restaurants Inc. (Nasdaq:MMRI) announced today that its retail division, Macheezmo Foods, is selling burritos in 133 Albertson's grocery stores in the Northwest.

Albertson's currently sells the Macheezmo Foods "Thai" and "Fiesta" Veggie style burritos. Commencing September 20th, they will carry the full line of burritos including the "Santa Fe Chicken" and "Fajita Beef."

Additionally, the Macheezmo Foods announced that availability of their retail, "Deli Fresh Products" for Costco is expanding from 8 to 18 stores in the Northwest market. The company has also contracted with Alaska Airlines for both breakfast and lunch burritos which are served on designated Alaska flights.

Scott Fisher, who oversees the retail division, added that, "Our retail division is off to a very promising start. Our challenge is to assure profitable operations through stringent cost and quality controls."

In other company news, MMRI has converted an existing Macheezmo Mouse restaurant in Vancouver, Washington to test a new concept, "Cholos Cantina." Responding to marketing surveys and changing customer preferences, Cholos features freshly grilled steak, chicken, pork and fish in traditional Mexican dishes and an array of fresh new salsas. Company founder, W.S. "Tiger" Warren said, "Cholos is not intended to take the place of Macheezmo Mouse. We believe that the Portland market is big enough for both concepts."

Macheezmo Mouse operates a chain of thirteen quick service restaurants in Oregon and Washington as well as a retail food division offering fresh, high quality Mexican food.
