Pleasant Hawaiian Introduces Unlimited Air Pass.

WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 20, 1997--In an unprecedented move to increase travel to Hawaii, Pleasant Hawaiian Holidays, the largest travel company serving the Islands, is introducing its $998 Pleasant Air Pass for unlimited travel from Jan. 1 through Dec. 31, 1998, inclusive, on its scheduled service with American Trans Air (ATA).

The program allows unlimited travel from either Los Angeles or San Francisco to either Honolulu or Maui. Consumers originating on Oahu or Maui may also take advantage of the Pleasant Air Pass for travel on ATA to either Los Angeles or San Francisco.

In announcing the unique program, Ed Hogan, Pleasant's founder, chairman and chief executive officer, noted: ``The Pleasant Air Pass is perfect for the frequent Hawaii visitor. Business people, military personnel, students and those who simply love the Islands will benefit tremendously.

``When you consider that retail airfares from California to Hawaii can go as high as $650 per ticket, it is easy to see how quickly the savings will mount for those who travel often to our beautiful 50th state.''

The Pleasant Air Pass may be purchased immediately through any travel agency, in which case the Air Pass card going to the consumer will feature the selected agency's name and telephone number to facilitate the booking process. Reservations on the ATA flights can be made beginning Dec. 1, 1997, for travel throughout 1998. Some blackout dates apply.

When consumers wish to travel, they may make their air arrangements through any travel agency and can add hotel, interisland airfare, ground transportation and other options. They can also choose their own routing, including ``open-jaw'' routings that allow departures from one city and a return to another.

If a particular flight is sold out, holders of the Pleasant Air Pass can stand by and receive priority boarding, if seats become available prior to departure. Space is capacity-controlled, and a limited number of Pleasant Air Passes will be sold.

For 1998, Pleasant currently offers 750 ATA flights to Hawaii from Los Angeles and San Francisco, representing more than 250,000 seats.

Once the Pleasant Air Pass is purchased, Pleasant will send to the consumer the terms and conditions for using the pass and a special travel card. For more information and purchase of the Pleasant Air Pass, contact any travel agency or call 800/2-HAWAII (800/242-9244) or visit Pleasant's Web site at www.pleasantholidays.com .
