Plea to find more unsung heroes.

NOMINATIONS are flooding in for the Pride of Coventry and Warwickshire Community Awards 2009 but we still want to hear about more of your unsung heroes.

Two two new categories - volunteer hero and health care hero - have been added this year. The winners will be honoured at a ceremony at the Ricoh Arena. Businesses backing the awards include the Coventry Building Society, Heart of England Community Foundation, AXA, Henley College, Massey Ferguson, Barclays, Heart of England Co-op, Arena Park Shopping Centre and Peugeot. Last year's winners included Shirley Maybey (pictured) who established a drop-in centre in Stratford for others experiencing mental health problems.

Local hero award winner was Linda O'Raw, who spent 20 years co-ordinatingmore than200 League of Friends of Nuneaton Hospitals volunteers. l If you know an unsung hero, submit your nomination using the form on this page.
