Playnet Expands Global Games (G2) Network.

BEDFORD, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 11, 2000

Playnet Inc. (Playnet) today announced the addition of three websites to its Global Games In economics and game theory, global games are games of incomplete information where players receive possibly-correlated signals of the underlying state of the world. Global games were originally defined by Carlsson and van Damme (1993).  (G2) Network(TM) in anticipation of the launch later this summer of a new online entertainment and gaming service, playnet.com (www.playnet.com).

The additions include two resource sites for the massively multiplayer game See multiplayer gaming. , World War II Online(TM) (www.wwiionline.com), which will be available exclusively through playnet.com and a content site aimed at the simulation enthusiast.

Tech Pubs TECH PUBS Technical Publications  (www.techpubs.wwiionline.com), a game resource site focusing on vehicle and weapon information surrounding World War II Online(TM), is being coordinated by Duane Godwin, a longtime content contributor to the gaming industry. The site will provide in-depth statistics, historical data and original artwork covering the vehicles used during World War II. , Tech Pubs will provide detailed information, specifications, and illustrations for each vehicle or weapon that will be modeled in WWII Online(TM). Tech Pubs will be offering each article as a downloadable Adobe Acrobat Document exchange software from Adobe that allows documents to be displayed and printed the same on every computer. Players will be able to be print these articles and collect them in a portfolio of information. All articles will be based on real-life incidents of WWII and will feature color illustrations researched by the artist, Tim Brown Timothy Donell Brown (born July 22, 1966) is a retired wide receiver, who played in the National Football League. He spent sixteen years with the Oakland Raiders, during which he established himself as one of the League's most prolific wide receivers. .

 (www.okw.wwiionline.com), founded by Adam Toering and Tom Farnsworth, is another example of the growing community interest and support for the as-yet-unreleased game being developed by Playnet's in-house software studio, Cornered Raft Software (www.corneredrat.com).

The G2 Network will deliver a web-based multi-player game service and interactive entertainment destination site at www.playnet.com, which will offer automated launching and seamless operation of games and related entertainment services in a variety of types and formats. The design of the G2 Network (an Internet-based interactive games network) includes many popular community-building features for playnet.com such as instant messaging Exchanging text messages in real time between two or more people logged into a particular instant messaging (IM) service. Instant messaging is more interactive than e-mail because messages are sent immediately, whereas e-mail messages can be queued up in a mail server for seconds or , file transfers between players, easy-to-use private chat system, and a voice chat system all presented in a simple and intuitive user interface.
