Platinum's swift acquisition of the enterprise level application development business comes approximately one month after the announcement of signing a definitive agreement. The acquisition includes the license to operate the business under the Centura (R) name.

Throughout the 60-120 day transition period, the existing management operations will continue to flow through Mike Scott, a Platinum executive and Gupta Technologies' acting COO. Platinum Equity acquired five companies in the fourth quarter of 2000, fueling its growth and reputation as a leading mergers and acquisitions firm in the US. The five companies include Billing Concepts, Aptis, Operator Service Company, Lanier Healthcare and Infocus Employee Services. In addition, Platinum expects to announce its acquisition of Williams Communications Solutions, a fully integrated, $1.3 billion telecommunications services business on March 31, 2001.
