PlanGraphics to Perform Additional Services for RIDOT.


FRANKFORT, Ky. -- The Rhode Island Rhode Island, island, United States
Rhode Island, island, 15 mi (24 km) long and 5 mi (8 km) wide, S R.I., at the entrance to Narragansett Bay. It is the largest island in the state, with steep cliffs and excellent beaches.
 Department of Transportation (RIDOT RIDOT Rhode Island Department of Transportation ) has contracted with PlanGraphics, Inc. (Pink Sheets: PGRA PGRA Plant Growth Regulator Abstracts (database) ) for additional services on RIDOT's electronic document management system.

In addition to expanding the electronic scanning and indexing of RIDOT documents, this new project includes developing an ArcPAD field application that will be deployed jointly by the Rhode Island Historic Preservation and Heritage commissions on handheld Trimble GeoXT GPS computers. The field application will be used to assess highway construction sites and collect data required to comply with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966. The project will also upgrade the existing document management infrastructure and database deployed in 2001.
