So did the other four judges in California Pizza Kitchen's national contest to raise money for Childrens Hospital Los Angeles Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850.  and comparable facilities across the U.S. Competing against more than 300 other kids under 14 who sent in their most creative pizza recipes, Aurora, Colo. resident Bergan won $1,000 worth of gift certificates to the L.A.-based casual dining chain.

What's more, his recipe will be part of CPKids Menu at the 141 franchise-owned restaurants for the next year. Proceeds from the first $100,000 in sales will benefit the medical facilities.

Other judges were Joe Farrell Joe Farrell, real name Joseph Carl Firrantello (16 December 1937 Chicago Heights, Illinois, USA - 6 January 1986 Los Angeles, California) was a jazz saxophonist and flutist.

In the 1960s Farrell played with the Thad Jones/Mel Lewis Big Band.
 of the "Trading Spaces: Family" TV show, Emily Smith, director of the FamilyFun.com Web site and CPK's co-founders Rick Rosenfeld and Larry Flax.

Said Schirripa of Bergan's recipe: "The Spaghetti and Meatball Pizza is the perfect mix of protein and carbs. I personally have never attempted to run a marathon, but if I ever did, it's something I'd order the night before to give me that extra boost. It's delicious."
