Pixo Arts Corp. Delivers Breakthrough in Wide Format Productivity with New Picaxo 2000 Products.

LAS VEGAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 17, 1999--

- Delivers Dramatically Faster Graphics/Photo Layout and Print

- Unleashes the Power of Scalable Documents for Output

- Enables The Convenience And Speed Of Collaboration Over The

Internet

Pixo Arts Corp. today announced the immediate availability of its Picaxo Bureau 2000 and Picaxo Designer 2000 software products for graphics arts professionals.

Designed for the professional production and output of photo-rich graphics designs, Picaxo Bureau 2000 and Designer 2000 deliver dramatically superior performance in the output of wide format prints. These products also enable the rapid manipulation of very high-resolution images, and allow designers to create single, dynamic documents whose data can be scaled on the fly to output any sized document for easy, consistent branding campaigns. Additionally, the Picaxo 2000 family provides service bureaus means to offer new, more efficient production services to their customers using the Internet instead of expensive private networks and courier A monospaced typeface originating from the typewriter that is commonly used for letters. It is still considered by many to be the "appropriate" typeface for business correspondence.  services.

"Picaxo 2000 products were designed to meet the demanding needs of professional graphics and imaging service bureaus," said Dr. Clive Liu, president of Pixo Arts Corp. "The Bureau 2000 software is built on powerful, next generation PostScript The de facto standard page description language (PDL) in the graphics arts industry as well as in commercial printing. Developed by Adobe, many printers and most imagesetters support PostScript by having a built-in PostScript interpreter.  and Scalable Output RIP for print production and professional imaging applications. Its RIP can intelligently process both PostScript as well as high-resolution images, and produce the highest quality output possible at any chosen output size, from a postage stamp postage stamp, government stamp affixed to mail to indicate payment of postage. The term includes stamps printed or embossed on postcards and envelopes as well as the adhesive labels.  to a billboard."

With Bureau 2000, service bureaus using large format printers like the HP CP series can save considerable time in their output of items like large format prints -- up to 75 percent less RIP time and 20 minutes less total printing time for each print. For busy bureaus, this translates into a payback Payback

on their investment in just a few weeks. Bureau 2000 also offers complete digital imaging services from image scanning and archiving images in Kodak Photo CD or other formats, and provides complete control over the design, layout and printing to full range of output devices.

Picaxo 2000 architecture is 100 percent compatible with all of the leading photo-editing, graphics production and page layout programs A desktop publishing program such as Corel Ventura and QuarkXPress. The capabilities of such a program go well beyond word processing and include such features as color control, precision typography, the layout of text and columns and the addition of rules and borders. See desktop publishing. . These applications generate PostScript documents as input to the Bureau 2000 for wide-format output solution. In fact, Bureau 2000 excels as a back-end output package for these applications printing at varying sizes. But for those customers and bureaus that want to take a leap forward in productivity in creating original graphics and photo arts productions, Bureau 2000 and Designer 2000 combined deliver a new level of performance.

Using Picaxo Designer 2000 software (the companion product to Picaxo Bureau 2000), graphics arts professionals can save over 75 percent of the time required to assemble photos and graphics for large format prints and multiple print format communication campaigns. Instead of having to go back and forth between various creation and layout applications to achieve final layout of graphics and photo elements, Designer 2000 offers almost everything the user needs in one application.

Using a simple, intuitive interface, designers can rapidly assemble and adjust high-resolution creative elements for output at virtually any size. Additionally, designers can output proof prints at page sizes up to 24" by 24", and once satisfied with the results, can simply mail the Designer 2000 document over the Internet to their service provider partner. This is easily achieved since native Designer 2000 documents are extremely small for emailing across the Internet to a collaborating service provider -- regardless of what size the final output of the original design. This translates into tremendous savings in time and costs by both the customer and service bureau.

"Bureau 2000 is the most efficient PostScript RIP in the marketplace for printing PostScript and high-resolution images in the same document," said Dr. Clive Liu. "Time is money to an on-demand printer, and Bureau 2000 eliminates the RIP bottleneck A lessening of throughput. It often refers to networks that are overloaded, which is caused by the inability of the hardware and transmission lines to support the traffic. It can also refer to a mismatch inside the computer where slower-speed peripheral buses and devices prevent the CPU  especially for large-format documents that are 90 or 100 percent photographic in content and possibly very large (several hundred mega bytes). Bureau 2000 could make owners of large-format plotters three times more productive, and easily save them an average of 20-30 minutes in each job from the start to completion."

Bureau 2000 supports a long list of color not of the white race; - commonly meaning, esp. in the United States, of negro blood, pure or mixed.

About Pixo Arts Corp.

Pixo Arts Corp. was incorporated as a California company in 1996 with the objective of becoming one of the premiere providers of distributed scalable printing technology for the next generation of printing solutions. Leveraging its unique, proprietary Object-based Raster The horizontal lines (scan lines) displayed on a TV or computer monitor. This is the origin of the term "raster graphics," which is the major category that all bitmapped images and video frames fall into (GIF, JPEG, MPEG, etc.).  Image Processing (O'RIP(TM)) technology (U.S. Patent Pending), Pixo Arts believes that it has a technical advantage in addressing the evolving requirements of the next wave of output solutions. Pixo Arts' solutions begin with the company's new, efficient process for PostScript printing that outputs from sticker size to wide-format printing. Over time Pixo Arts will expand this technology into distributed scalable printing world-wide -- across Intranets and the Internet.
