Pivot-down bag filler.

A bulk bag filler that features a pivot-down fill head has been introduced by Flexicon Corporation, Bethlehem, PA. This new design enables operators to connect empty bags at floor level and resume filling operations within one minute, eliminating the need to climb steps or reach overhead connection points, or risk injury with operation of conventional bulk bag fillers. The patent-applied-for design, named the Swing-Down[TM] bulk bag filler, simultaneously lowers and pivots the fill head, stopping in a vertically oriented position that places the bag inlet spout inflatable connection, inflator button, and four bag loop latches within arms length of an operator standing on the plant floor. A remote console houses controls to raise and pivot the fill head into a locked fill position, inflate the bag, open a flow control value or start a fee devise, and stop the flow once a preset weight is reached. Once filled, the controller deflates the spout connection collar, releases the loop latches, and raises the fill head to fully disengage the spout, allowing the bag to exit the filler onto the roller conveyor.
