:PDM), announced today that it has been awarded a $23 million contract from the Michigan Department of Transportation The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is a government agency in the U.S. state of Michigan. History
The first State Highway Department was created on July 1, 1905.
 (DOT) to fabricate approximately 11,000 tons of structural steel.

The steel will be used for bridges on U.S. Highway 131 over Grandville Avenue and the Grand River in Grand Rapids, Mich. PDM Bridge will deliver the steel in April and September 2000. The Michigan DOT is targeting completion of the bridge by November of 2000.

Funding for this project was provided through a combination of federal, state and local dollars, including Michigan Governor John Engler's Build Michigan II plan and the federal funding legislation known as TEA-21.
