Pitt-Des Moines Bridge Division Sets Bookings Record In Second Quarter of 1999.

THE WOODLANDS, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 3, 1999--

PDM Bridge, a division of Pitt-Des Moines, Inc. (AMEX:PDM), announced today that it was awarded $58 million in new contracts during the second quarter of 1999, setting a record for any quarter.

The Page Avenue Bridge near St. Louis is one of the major awards included in this figure. The dual-arch steel bridge will span the Missouri River as part of Route 364, a new highway being constructed by the Missouri Department of Transportation.

PDM Bridge will fabricate 8,425 tons of steel for this project. The company expects to ship the first arch in early 2001.

The company was also awarded three contracts from the Illinois Department of Transportation to replace 13 bridges and ramp structures on Interstate 55 near Chicago. PDM Bridge will supply approximately 7,100 tons of fabricated girders for these projects, with the first shipment scheduled for March 2000.

Headquartered in Eau Claire, Wisc., PDM Bridge fabricates steel for complex bridge structures including bascule bridges, vertical lift bridges, tied arch bridges and truss bridges.
