The town of Slatina was mentioned for the first time in an official document issued by Vladislav I Vlaicu, Prince of Wallachia, on January 20, 1386. . The joint venture, called Cord Romania, is owned 80% by Pirelli and 20% by Continental. The factory has 350 employees and will have an annual output of 30,00 tons of steel cord which will be supplied to East European European
emanating from or pertaining to Europe.
