Pinnacle Systems Inc. (Nasdaq:PCLE) is today unveiling the DVEXtremePlus, a new member of the popular DVEXtreme family of 10-bit digital effects systems.

Targeted at the live broadcast market, the DVEXtremePlus offers a shotbox option for on-air effects recall and playback, as well as a dedicated control panel. It provides exceptionally tight integration with popular switchers from Philips, Sony, Accom/Abekas and other manufacturers. Available for immediate delivery in 525 or 625 configurations, the DVEXtremePlus supports 16:9 as well as 4:3 operation. Existing DVEXtreme systems can be upgraded to DVEXtremePlus.

The DVEXtremePlus delivers a powerful package of features including: 3D highlights; a wipe generator for each DVE channel; deep de-focus; multiple databases which allow individual operators to maintain their own databases of effects, sequences and stills; multiple analog settings, which enable analog systems to be timed to different areas within a facility; two GPI output triggers per channel for control of external devices; roll and crawl support for TitleDeko files via the DVE warp engine; the 32-bit PinnaclePaint program for the creation of graphics and wipe patterns; input router support with one-button access to input selections; shotbox support with one-button access to 24 online effects; and the AUX Bus Control option for Abekas, GVG, Philips and Sony switchers.

The new ParticleMaker option allows for custom creation of ParticleFX and PainterlyFX, using texture or image files running on standard Windows 95, 98 and NT PCs. Any image file can be converted to a texture with this program.
