Savannah, Ga., hosts the largest annual single-day celebration in the southeastern United States United States, officially United States of America, republic (2005 est. pop. 295,734,000), 3,539,227 sq mi (9,166,598 sq km), North America. The United States is the world's third largest country in population and the fourth largest country in area.  every March 17. St. Patrick's St. Patrick's or Saint Patrick's may refer to:
  • Saint Patrick's Day, named after the saint
  • St. Patrick's Purgatory, an ancient pilgrimage in Lough Derg, County Donegal, Ireland
 Day draws 400,000 people to the squares of the city for a huge parade and the traditional "greening of the fountains." At the greening ceremony, Savannah's St. Patrick's Day Parade Executive Committee pours green vegetable dye into square fountains, including this one in Forsyth Park Forsyth Park is a large city park that spans 30 acres (0 km) in the historic district of Savannah, Georgia. The park was originally created in the 1840s on 10 acres (0 km) , one of Savannah's most recognizable landmarks.
