Picis Expands Customer Base within European Healthcare Market.

BARCELONA, Spain -- Impressive 2004 growth continues in 2005

Picis has seen a record number of direct sales and add-on sales in the European market for its CareSuite anaesthesia anaesthesia

and critical care software in the last year. First quarter 2005 revenues jumped 200 percent compared to the same period in 2004. In 2004-2005 Picis increased its European customer base by 20 percent.

Higher demand for healthcare information technology within the European hospitals; CareSuite's information sharing, interoperability and proven functionality within the anaesthesia and critical care environments; and Picis' successful new distribution partnerships are reasons for this sharp rise in business.

"We are excited to see this surge in our European customer base, and we are committed to providing our customers exemplary service not only to consistently meet, but exceed their expectations," said Marc Prenafeta, general manager of european operations, Picis. "We believe quality service is vital for our customers to optimize the value of their IT investment."

The diversity of these clients demonstrates the popularity of Picis software in hospitals large and small, and single and multifacility organizations including:

," said Joaquin Alvarez, MD, chief of intensive care, Hospital de Fuenlabrada. "We decided to first implement CareSuite in the ICU and ORs and then in a second stage expand the system to neonatology. Picis recommended a six-month implementation of the system, which went quicker than expected and we implemented the system in three months in 2004, and by January had already purchased CareSuite to automate neonatology. When I look back, six months was a reasonable implementation time."

Hospital de Fuenlabrada, a 385-bed general hospital located near Madrid, Spain, opened in 2004. It has installed CareSuite for information management and medical device connectivity of intensive care, anaesthesia, recovery and neonatology areas, providing a much needed comprehensive electronic patient record.
