Physical Therapy `99: Annual Conference and Exposition of the APTA.

Abstracts of Papers Accepted for Presentation

Presentations at Physical Therapy '99 will be made in one of three formats: platform, poster, and multimedia technology. Contained in this supplement are abstracts of research, special interest, computer, or multimedia technology presentations that are to be presented at Physical Therapy `99: Annual Conference and Exposition exposition or exhibition, term frequently applied to an organized public fair or display of industrial and artistic productions, designed usually to promote trade and to reflect cultural progress.  of the APTA APTA American Physical Therapy Association. .

These abstracts represent diverse topics and viewpoints and serve as a guide to one aspect of Physical Therapy `99 programming. For those not attending the meeting, the abstracts provide valuable information about the variety of work being done and the current views and insights being offered by colleagues.

Abstracts are not intended to replace full-length papers: They are glimpses of work in progress or synopses of completed work. Likewise, inclusion of abstracts in this supplement does not constitute peer-reviewed journal peer-reviewed journal Refereed journal Academia A professional journal that only publishes articles subjected to a rigorous peer validity review process. Cf Throwaway journal.  publication. Abstracts are offered here because authors wanted to present their work in forums through which they could interact with colleagues or because article-length versions of their work have not yet been completed. In either case, the publication of abstracts alerts readers to what research is being conducted today and to who is actively engaged in particular pursuits. Only by reading a full-length, peer-reviewed article can you judge the value, credibility, and usefulness of research.

For many of the authors of abstracts that appear in this supplement, the work has only just begun. We congratulate them on their efforts, and await AWAIT, crim. law. Seems to signify what is now understood by lying in wait, or way-laying.  and encourage full-length articles that can be submitted for review and potential publication.
