PhramaDesign, Pharma Valley Center to Collaborate in Developing Transcriptional Regulator-targeted Anti-tumor Agents.


Tokyo Tokyo (tō`kēō), city (1990 pop. 8,163,573), capital of Japan and of Tokyo prefecture, E central Honshu, at the head of Tokyo Bay. , Japan, Oct 5, 2005 - (JCNN JCNN Japan Corporate News Network ) - PharmaDesign announced on October 3 that it has signed a joint research agreement with the Pharma Valley Center organized by the Shizuoka Prefecture.

Under the agreement terms, the two partners will collaborate in developing anti-tumor agents that target at transcriptional regulators. The joint research will be conducted at the Center for Drug Discovery, a research facility of the University of Shizuoka The University of Shizuoka (静岡県立大学; Shizuoka Kenritsu Daigaku, abbreviated to 静岡県立大 Shizuokakenritsudai) is a public university in Shizuoka, Japan. , Graduate School of Pharmaceutical Sciences.

Specifically, PharmaDesign will provide active compound candidates to the Pharma Valley Center. Accordingly, the Pharma Valley Center will narrow down the compound candidates through screening.

By leveraging each's expertise, they aim to promptly discover drug candidates and begin clinical trials within 3 to 4 years.
