Phony ecumenism. (you may be right).

I read Peter Gilmour's May Odds & Ends, "The Muslim Mary." Gilmour suggests inviting Muslims to participate in our May crowning May crowning is a traditional Roman Catholic ritual that occurs in the month of May of every year. In some countries, it takes place on or about May 1, however, in many United States Catholic parishes, it takes place on Mother's Day.  and even have a Muslim woman perform the crowning. Now this is nothing but a bunch of touchy-feely political correctness politically correct
adj. Abbr. PC

that the church can do without.

Unfortunately, the church has been moving in this direction ever since the debacle of Vatican II Noun 1. Vatican II - the Vatican Council in 1962-1965 that abandoned the universal Latin liturgy and acknowledged ecumenism and made other reforms
Second Vatican Council

Vatican Council - each of two councils of the Roman Catholic Church
, and all this has given people like Gilmour a forum. What he is proposing is nothing new; it's the same phony ecumenism ecumenism

Movement toward unity or cooperation among the Christian churches. The first major step in the direction of ecumenism was the International Missionary Conference of 1910, a gathering of Protestants.
that has been going on for more than 30 years.

When are Gilmour and others of his ilk going to get it into their liberal heads that, although God does not love us Catholics any more than he loves Muslims, Jews, and Protestants, they are not us and we are not them. Stop pushing this false and phony togetherness.
