Philadelphia PRSA, which will celebrate its 55th anniversary in 2007, has nearly 600 members in the greater Philadelphia region. This year will be especially pivotal for Philadelphia PRSA, as it has been chosen to host the PRSA International Conference from October 20-23, 2007. More than 5,000 public relations professionals from across the country are expected to attend. "Being selected as the host chapter for this prestigious event underscores the fact that the best of the public relations profession are right here in Philadelphia," said newly-elected PRSA President Maribeth Roman Schmidt. "It also enhances Philadelphia's increasingly strong image as a convention destination." In addition to the national conference, another key initiative this year for Philadelphia PRSA is to offer public relations programming and education to the 6,000 members of the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce, of which it is a member.
