PhereSys Therapeutics Extends Its National Therapeutic Apheresis Services Roll-out to San Diego and Appoints Jerry Kolins, MD As Western Regional Medical Director.


EL DORADO HILLS, Calif. -- Pheresys Therapeutics Corporation ("PhereSys") announced today that it has expanded its therapeutic apheresis therapeutic apheresis A form of exchange transfusion in which blood is removed from a Pt and fluids returned to the general circulation: 1. Dr. Jerry Kolins is the Transfusion Service Medical Director for Palomar Medical Center Palomar Medical Center (PMC) is located in Escondido, California. Dr. Kolins is active in several professional societies, including past president of both the California Blood Bank Society and the Blood Centers of California, and currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Elizabeth Hospice in Escondido, CA. He received his M.D. degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine The Wayne State University School of Medicine (WSUSOM) is the largest single-campus medical school in the United States with more than 1,000 medical students. In addition to undergraduate medical education, the school offers master’s degree, Ph.D. and M.D.-Ph.D.  in Detroit in 1972 and is certified by the American Board of Pathology and American Board of Medical Management. Dr. Kolins has published numerous scientific articles in the fields of transfusion medicine and blood banking.
