NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 12, 2002

Pfizer Animal Health has announced the addition of a new ivermectin ivermectin

an avermectin with broad activity against many helminths and arthropods. A broad-spectrum anthelmintic, acaricide and insecticide, used orally, subcutaneously and as a pour-on.

products. Equell(TM) will provide a strong complement to both Pfizer's daily and traditional deworming programs.

Deworming pastes have been applied using single-dose syringes for many years, but it took Pfizer, the leader in animal health innovation, to offer special features that make the administration of deworming pastes even better and more accurate.

"We're excited to be able to introduce Equell," said Dan Kramer, Equine Market Manager for Pfizer. "Ivermectin is an important part of any equine deworming program, but not all ivermectins are created like Equell. New Equell offers you more than just an effective, broad-spectrum dewormer backed by innovation from the most trusted name in health care. It will work with any rotational purge To eliminate or delete.  program, or it can serve as the needed twice-yearly complement to our daily Strongid(R) C and Strongid(R) C 2X(TM) programs."

Equell's features set it apart as distinct from other ivermectins currently available to horse owners. The paste comes in a unique, ergonomically designed tube with a curved finger grip and a plunger made for better handling. The tube's shorter body also makes it easy to use and the large wings on the package's cap are simple to remove with one hand. Equell also offers greater flexibility for a broader range of horses as it is packaged to treat up to 1,320 pounds in a single dose.

"Equell has all of the strength and power of ivermectin, including its broad spectrum of parasite parasite, plant or animal that at some stage of its existence obtains its nourishment from another living organism called the host. Parasites may or may not harm the host, but they never benefit it.  control," adds Dr. Robert Dressler, Pfizer's Equine Veterinary Operations Manager See datacenter manager. .
