Peter Weller And Roy Scheider Set To Star In "Falling Through" For Alliance Atlantis' Le Monde Entertainment.

LOS ANGELES AND TORONTO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 2, 1999--

(NASDAQ:AACB) (TSE:AAC.A.) (ME:AAC.B.) PETER WELLER, ROY SCHEIDER and GORDAN CURRIE (Dog Park) are set to star in Falling Through, an action/adventure thriller produced by Chesler-Perlmutter/Le Sabre/Delux for Le Monde Entertainment, a division of ALLIANCE ATLANTIS COMMUNICATIONS INC., it was announced today by Le Monde's Director of Development Marc Forby. Principal photography will begin on August 18 on location in Luxembourg. Colin Bucksey (Dealers, Nash Bridges, Sliders, The Untouchables) is set to direct. Falling Through is a co-production between Canada, France and Luxembourg.

Peter Weller is best known for his starring role in 1987's hit action/thriller Robocop and it's sequel Robocop II. Most recently he starred in Diplomatic Siege with Tom Berenger and Daryl Hanah and other credits include Beyond the Clouds co-starring John Malkovich, Irene Jacob and Jean Reno and David Cronenberg's Naked Lunch. Mr. Weller is also an accomplished television director most recently having directed the drama series Michael Hayes and Homicide: Life on the Streets.

Roy Scheider first received international attention for his starring role in Stephen Spielberg's Jaws and its sequel Jaws 2. His more recent film credits include, The Rainmaker starring Matt Damon and Claire Danes, The Myth of Fingerprints co-starring Julianne Moore and Noah Wyle and Romeo is Bleeding starring Gary Oldman, Anabella Sciorra and Juliette Lewis. On the small screen, Mr. Scheider starred in the dramatic series Seaquest and recently hosted the one-hour special, The World's Deadliest Sea Creatures.

Falling Through is a political thriller set in the American embassy in Paris. Due to a recent wave of passport counterfeiting, the Embassy finds itself under a state of heightened alert. Head of Security, Earl Miller (Scheider) deploys a young internal affairs officer, Peter Connelly to help stem the breach. But Peter is torn between loyalty and the law when he finds out his mentor, Lou Fairchild (Weller) is involved.

Alliance Atlantis Pictures International will handle worldwide distribution. Le Monde Entertainment's feature film credits include, Black Mask starring Jet Li, and the upcoming HBO thriller, Cara Cara starring Johnathon Schaech, Natasha Henstridge and Lauren Hutton.
