Peter Gyenes Joins Marathon Technologies' Board of Directors; Former Ascential CEO Brings Growth and Value Creation Experience; Reinforces Seasoned Team of Directors.

Gyenes, who served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Ascential Software Corporation, was a driving force in building the company to be the leader in data integration, culminating in the $1.1 billion acquisition of the company by IBM (International Business Machines Corporation, Armonk, NY, www.ibm.com) The world's largest computer company. Gyenes was officially appointed to Marathon's board on March 1, 2006.

Prior to Ascential, Gyenes served as Chief Executive Officer of Informix Software where he led the sale of its database business to IBM and the transition from Informix to Ascential. Earlier, Gyenes was Chairman, President, and Chief Executive Officer of Ardent Software, which he joined in May of 1996, which was acquired by Informix in 2000. Before Ardent, Mr. Gyenes served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Racal InterLan Inc. Previously, Mr. Gyenes served in executive sales, marketing, and general management positions at Data General Corporation, Encore Computer Encore Computer was an early pioneer in the parallel computing market based in Marlborough, Massachusetts. They offered a number of designs starting in 1985, they were never as well known as the other pioneers of this field, namely Pyramid, Alliant and Sequent.  Corporation and Prime Computer, Inc.
