Pete's Brewing Company Pete's Brewing Company was founded by homebrewer Pete Slosberg in 1986. Its major product line is Pete's Wicked Ale, an American Brown Ale that is 5.3% alcohol by volume. The company was acquired by The Gambrinus Company in 1998, a corporation that primarily imports beers such as  struck gold at the prestigious 2002 Brewing Industry International Awards (BIIA BIIA Business Information Industry Association (Asia Pacific Middle East Limited, Hong Kong)

The beers were originally judged in February at Burton upon Trent Burton upon Trent, urban area (1991 pop. 47,930), Staffordshire, W central England, on the Trent River and the Grand Trunk Canal. All beers were double-coded for anonymity with all branding removed.

Pete's Wicked Helles Lager, a new product added to the Pete's Wicked portfolio in August 2001, was also recognized with a gold medal at the 2001 Great American Beer Festival The Great American Beer Festival (GABF) is a three-day annual event hosted by the Brewers Association held at the end of September or the beginning of October in Denver, Colorado.  in Denver, Colo. While this is the first brewing award for Pete's Wicked Strawberry Blonde, it continues to be a consumer favorite evidenced by its solid growth.
