Net sales Net Sales The amount a seller receives from the buyer after costs associated with the sale are deducted. Notes: This amount is calculated by subtracting the following items from gross sales: merchandise returned for credit, allowances for damaged or missing goods, freight for the quarter ended December 31, 2006 were $31.4 million, compared to $25.9 million for the quarter ended December 31, 2005, an increase of 21%. Net income was $2.8 million, or $0.11 diluted per share, for the quarter ended December 31, 2006, compared to net income of $2.7 million, or $0.11 diluted per share, for the quarter ended December 31, 2005, an increase to net income of 3%. Net sales for the nine months ended December 31, 2006 were $125.8 million, compared to $108.2 million for the nine months ended December 31, 2005, an increase of 16%. Net income was $10.8 million, or $0.44 diluted per share, for the nine months ended December 31, 2006, compared to net income of $8.9 million, or $0.37 diluted per share, for the nine months ended December 31, 2005, an increase to net income of 21%. Approximately 63% of all sales were placed on the Company's website for the third quarter, compared to 57% for the same quarter in the prior year.
