Pervasive.SQL2000i database engine.


Developer Solutions has a new version of Pervasive's application development database engine, Pervasive. SQL SQL
 in full Structured Query Language.

Computer programming language used for retrieving records or parts of records in databases and performing various calculations before displaying the results.
 2000i. This offers database simplicity and flexibility for traditional, Internet and Linux deployments and can drive both traditional and Internet-based applications across a range of hardware and software platforms. Pervasive. SQL 2000i for Windows NT, NetWare, Workgroup and Workstation are available now.

Pervasive. SQL 2000i for Linux and Solaris will be released in the near future.

Features include: * Dynamic Cursors

* Row Level Locking on Key and Data pages OLE DB 2.0--ICommand and browser JDBC (Java DataBase Connectivity) A programming interface that lets Java applications access a database via the SQL language. Since Java interpreters (Java Virtual Machines) are available for all major client platforms, this allows a platform-independent database  2.0 (level 4)

* Auto Reconnect between clients and NT and NW Servers

* Pervasive System Analyzer which eliminates deployment issues related to component management.

* Backward compatibility with existing Btrieve* API-based applications on various currently supported platforms (Windows, Linux, Netware and Solaris)

* Support for an extensive array of Web standards, including ODBC (Open DataBase Connectivity) A database programming interface from Microsoft that provides a common language for Windows applications to access databases on a network. , OLE DB 2.5 and JDBC 2.0

* Support for popular development environments, including Java, Perl and PHP (PHP Hypertext Preprocessor) A scripting language used to create dynamic Web pages. With syntax from C, Java and Perl, PHP code is embedded within HTML pages for server side execution.
