Personal voice, rhythm, inspiration ... girls improve their writing skills.


What would life be without communication? Writing is one form of communication that has brought so many people enjoyment and success in their lives. See collaborative software.  with the Namibian Girl Child Organisation, held a writing workshop for girls in August at Jacob Jacob (jā`kəb), in the Bible, ancestor of the Hebrews, the younger of Isaac and Rebecca's twin sons; the older was Esau. We invited girls from secondary schools where there are Girls Clubs Girls Club is a 2002 American television series created by David E. Kelley, who was also it's producer and executive producer.  Adolfson from Africa Groups of Sweden conducted the workshop. It created a platform for girls from different social and cultural backgrounds to come together, explore common issues and learn how to put their understandings, experiences and feelings into writing in different ways. The girls were eager to participate and had high expectations of the workshop. They wanted to know why writing was important, how to improve their writing skills and reading habits, and through these activities they wanted to improve their mastery of English.

The stories and poems produced during the workshop showed that the girls are facing the same things in their lives, including violence in their families, abuse in relationships, teenage pregnancy teenage pregnancy Adolescent pregnancy, teen pregnancy Social medicine Pregnancy by a ♀, age 13 to 19; TP is usually understood to occur in a ♀ who has not completed her core education–secondary school, has few or no marketable skills, is  and discrimination between boys and girls boys and girls

 at home and at school. It also emerged that mothers are valued as powerful supporters and role models for the girls. Listening to and reading all these powerful testimonies made us realise the value of sharing our experiences not only with one another but also with a wider audience.

How to get our work published was therefore the main point of discussion at a follow up meeting at the Sister office, at which the girls also had the chance to explore our extensive library. We have included three of the poems from our writing workshop on the next page, and look forward to receiving many more contributions to Sister Namibia magazine by members of the Namibian Girl Child Organisation and other young women writers in the future.
