Jakubowski joins Perry Ellis International, Inc. from Kenneth Cole Productions Kenneth Cole Productions, Inc. is an American fashion house founded in 1982 by Kenneth Cole. Born in Brooklyn, Cole is a graduate of Emory University. He originally named the company Kenneth Cole Incorporated in September 1982 and planned to showcase his new line of shoes during , where he most recently served as Chief Merchandising Officer, responsible for the development of all footwear, apparel, & accessories within the Company's wholesale, retail, & international divisions.

For eight years, from 1997 to 2005, Jakubowski held executive level positions with both Salant Corporation and Perry Ellis International including President of the Perry Ellis division from 2003 to 2005, responsible for the day to day operation of the men's sportswear, dress shirt, and accessory divisions.
