Perini Corporation Receives Second Task Order for Afghanistan National Army Brigade Facilities.

FRAMINGHAM, Mass. -- Perini Corporation (NYSE:PCR) announces the award on July 19 of a second design-build project for Afghanistan National Army (ANA) brigade facilities by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The project consists of the design and construction of brigade facilities at Gardez in eastern Afghanistan. This project is in addition to a similar project awarded for Mazer-e-Sharif, which was announced on July 14. The award value of each individual project is $52 million, for a total of $104 million.

The projects were competitively awarded by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Transatlantic Programs Center on behalf of the Afghanistan Engineer District. Perini was one of three U.S. contractors who submitted bids for the Gardez Task Order under previously awarded Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity contracts.

The facilities at each site will support a regional brigade and will each include a water treatment, storage and distribution system; a sewage collection system; a prime power plant and site distribution system; a dining facility; administrative buildings and barracks, and associated site work. The scope of work also includes the development of a master plan for each base to include training ranges and additional facilities for future expansion.
