Shipping immediately with the WAN software protocols is PTI's diversified range of CompactPCI based WAN hardware products, including its CPC (1) (Central Processing Complex) An IBM mainframe that has two or more central processors (CPs) that share memory. It is the collection of processors, memory and I/O subsystems manufactured with a single serial number, typically all contained in one cabinet. 340 WAN Communications Adapter, a 6U, four port Synchronous I/O controller, and its CPC334, a 3U, four port Synchronous I/O controller. Based on the Motorola MC68360 QUICC QUICC Quad Integrated Communications Controller (R) processor, both models offer V.35, RS422, and RS232 line interfaces, and provide extensive processing power for onboard execution of WAN protocols or applications.

The CPC340 and CPC334 carry 4MB of shared DRAM memory and are capable of 2Mbps full duplex line speed simultaneously on all ports. Both models are available in front or rear panel I/O configurations, while the CPC340 6U rear I/O product offers a passive rear transition module.
