Percon announces PowerWedge -- next generation fixed-station decoder line.


EUGENE, Ore.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 18, 1996--Percon Inc. (Nasdaq:PCRN PCRN Providence Community Resource Network (Rhode Island) ) today announced the introduction of its PowerWedge(TM) family of fixed-station decoder A hardware device or software that converts coded data back into its original form. All three of these new decoders provide significant enhancements to the company's existing decoder line, replacing the Series 10 Plus and the Series 20 Plus models.

For the most demanding applications, the PowerWedge 20 is a universal decoder, which can be used as either a keyboard wedge or serial wedge decoder. Over 300 computers and terminals interface with the PowerWedge 20; in addition, an external serial device such as a scale may be connected using a separate external auxiliary serial connector located on the back of the unit.

Suggested list prices are $190 for the Mini PowerWedge, $210 for the PowerWedge 10,and $380 for the PowerWedge 20. Suggested list price for the PowerWedge 20 Dual model is $430. Available for shipment beginning April 1, 1996, each PowerWedge decoder also features a five-year warranty.
